Northam Burrows Park

It’s intended to be a useful guide to what’s going on in Bideford and the surrounding villages of Appledore, Instow, Northam and Westward Ho, for locals and visitors alike. The links will be relevant businesses that provide useful services. For instance, did you know that there’s a new Subway in Mill Street just opened and a new computer shop, PC Plan-It? Links on the Bideford Businesses page.

If you’ve come to Bideford to relax or you live in Bideford and like taking walks there’s no better place than Northam Burrows park to start. Northam Burrows stretches along the Bristol channel between Appledore and Westward Ho! and it is home to many horses and sheep and the Royal North Devon Golf Club, so if you like Golf you’re catered for.

The beach is a wide expanse of sand when the tide is low and is used by kite-surfers and kite-flyers as well as dog walkers. It is popular with surfers and windsurfers when the tide is in. A link to where you can hire Kitesurfing equipment and learn to kitesurf is here along with prices.
